Pickering's Limited Release 1947 Gin - 70cl - 42% ABV
Founded by Marcus Pickering and Matthew Gammell, the distillery is based in Summerhall Art hub, in a space that used to be the kennels of the Small Animal Hospital at the former Edinburgh School of Veterinary Studies.
The botanicals are macerated for 24 hours with neutral grain spirit in a 500 litre Portuguese made copper still, nicknamed Gert after Matt’s great grandmother.
This is the Pickering's recipe as it was intended to be. It is based on the original recipe written in 1947, with stronger flavours of cardamom and cinnamon. This is a bold gin that complements the spicy, almost curried notes of their flagship, more modern interpretation.
